My cd burner wont burn anymore?

Hi all i have a tower pc windows 7. last week my cd burner was fine and copied audio cd on windows media. untill now it takes longer to burn and to find out it doesnt register on the cd and computer says complete? i installed nero burning rom and i got 'scsi aborted' so i got another cd burner from my spare pc. swapted it installed the driver and its still the same 'scsi aborted' i have tried unstalling the drivers and installing again but still i am puzzled and tried what i can. my last of the list is to re boot windows 7 all together and try that way. if someone can help me? thanks. p.s i also tried system restore
