Why does my HTC Inspire phone never sync?

I had a HTC Aria and I always used to sync it to my PS3 and Laptop, now my Aria broke all the time and it finally broke completely, so I upgraded to a HTC Inspire and I just got it today, problem is when I plug my Inspire to my PS3 or Laptop it always re-boots then never syncs, it only synced ONCE outta the blue today. now I'm trying to sync again and it won't sync instead just re-boots then never syncs. Its VERY ANNOYING and I wanna know if its normal because if so, I'm gonna change my phone to some other HTC phone.
