Can anyone help with these laptop troubles, Please?

A friend of mine accidentally dropped his Dell Inspiron laptop. He said it only dropped 4-5 inches onto tile flooring. It still worked after it got dropped. he left his room and came back to his laptop with a black screen displaying:"No harddrive found." I gave him the steps to "reseat" his harddrive. He did all the steps correctly and turned it on. This time it displayed: "Media test failed, check cable." It wont go to the desktop when you start it auto-matically gives you a black screen with errors on it. He ran a test and the test came up with these results: "Warning: no harddrive found." After that we ran the test once more and we got the same results. We re-booted the laptop and afterwards it displayed: "Boot priority 1-6." PLEASE help. Ive spent an entire day searching on the internet for things that could possibly help but I couldnt find anything exactly like this. Please, Im on my last resorts....
