Haven't been able to access internet on my laptop for over a week?!!!!?

Go to control panel, network. You will see the network map. There is probably a cross or a yellow triangle on the internet link. Below and to the left it will tell you the type of network - probably shows as unidentified network. Click on the "unidentified network and you should get a window asking to identify the network - click on Home, wait for a minute or two and you should have internet access
