Problem booting netbook in safe mode?

So I have some virus called MS Removal tool, and there are a whole bunch of sites that say how to fix it. The first step is to re boot the pc into safe mode with networking. But when I click safe mode button it asks me to select the operating system, after i select the only option the computer starts listing codes and later just freezes. help!!!
