What does it mean when a movie is re-booted please answer?

It's basically a remake, starting the whole story from scratch again. Definitely not a sequel. It's as you say what happened with Batman when they made Batman Begins, as it replaced the storyline from the old Tim Burton movies with a fresh look at the same events
