Sony walkman mp3 player NWZ A818?

my player has 'frozen' and , the screen is on and I can.t turn it off either. also re-booting it does not work , any ideas on what to do please, also on the net it's a bog standard charge of �70 to repair, I know I can pick one up NEW for this amount of money. can anyone rec/mend a repair Businesss who wont want the shirt off my bacl please ???????
